Tis the season, Eclipse season that is! The month of December brings all of its usual festivities and cheer but this year it also brings in some major karmic shifts. Let’s take a look at what to expect so that we can make the most of it!
We start out the month with Jupiter entering into the sign of Capricorn until December of 2020. Jupiter is our karmic planet of growth and higher knowledge. This transit brings a steadier and more direct energy which is quite a shift from Jupiter’s expansive and scattered energy in Sagittarius. [More to come on what this transit will mean for us later in the month ]. Mercury enters the sign of Sagittarius on the 9th and at the end of that week, we have the Full Moon in Gemini on December 12th.
A Full Moon represents the peak of the lunar cycle. It is a time of energetic balance and fruition. The Full Moon in Gemini is all about balancing the lower mind with the higher mind. The lower mind being your learned knowledge and the higher mind being your intuited knowledge. At this time, the minor planet of karmic wounds named Chiron will be stationing direct in Aries after having been retrograde since July. In Aries, Chiron is dealing with wounds of identity and personal freedom so these issues will be brought closer into view.
On December 20th, our planet of love enters the sign of Aquarius. Venus here brings a shift from of energy from the committed and practical to the fun and eccentric. On December 21st, we have the Winter Solstice when the sun enters Capricorn. The Winter Solstice is a time to honor the darkness that comes with Winter’s short days through self-reflection and to celebrate the renewal of the Sun.
The month comes to a climactic end with Mercury joining Venus in the sign of Capricorn and the Solar Eclipse on December 26th. A Solar Eclipse is when the Sun and the Moon meet at one of the lunar nodes. [More to come on this on as well later in the month…] So essentially, it is a New Moon charged up with karmic energy. This represents a karmic and transformational new beginning, both personally and collectively. The Eclipses always occur together so we’ll have the Lunar Eclipse occurring a few weeks later on January 10th. This can be some pretty heavy energy and it can be hard adapting to change, especially when it’s karmically triggered. However, we should also consider it a time in which the universe is opening the doors for us to align with our paths.
