Now a days you hear so much about sustainability, eco-friendly, zero waste, going green and the list goes on. Some people are still ignoring the obvious, but others are finally taking the step in the right direction. Small changes on a daily basis, aren't so small in the grand scheme of things. We all really should be doing our part to try to help our planet. One of the easiest and simplest ways to help is to be conscious of your candles. When I first came up with the idea to make candles, I immediately thought back to the waste I have always hated that comes with it.
You buy a candle, but after you burn it, you have a container that you don't really know what to do with. If you are anything like me, you hold on to them, convincing yourself you will use them for some sort of craft later on or promise yourself you will find the perfect place to use them as a statement decor. And then they would simply pile up, on a shelf never being reused. I always say, its not hoarding if it's craft supplies, although my fiance doesn't think so.
That's why I thought to myself, if we made the candles in mason jars, the waste would be significantly minimal. There are so many different things you can do with mason jars that they would be easy to give new life to. I began doing research on mason jars; their history, their purpose, and all the fun things you can do with them. Click here to learn some more facts. Mason jars began as a common canning jar and evolved into the multi-purpose glass jar we also use for decorations, crafts, and gifts today, so why not use them for our candles. Let's face it, they are a classic, they are the OGs, and really, who doesn't like a mason jar?
I'm not saying ONLY buy candles that come in mason jars, or maybe I am? What I am saying is be conscious of the candle you are buying. If you don't know how you can reuse the vessel afterwards, maybe think of a different vessel. All I am saying, is if you pick one of our coconut wax candles, you will have a mason jar afterwards, and really who ever had too many mason jars?
Our Zero Waste Candle Kit comes with our new 12 oz natural coconut wax candle, instructions on how to clean it after, and a product to reuse the jar ! The first of our many, we launch our Candle to Cocktail Shaker. The best part is after you enjoy the calmness and serenity of burning your candle, you can easily clean it out and turn your jar into your new favorite cocktail shaker. We also include Two Cocktail Recipes. One is for alcohol and one is for CBD, or a mocktail, so this is a product even for the non drinkers! Now that is a simple way to know that you aren't adding to the waste in the world.
The possibilities are endless, meaning it'd be really hard to NOT be able to reuse your container.
Now these are the types of candles our planet needs.
with love and shanti,
